During the 9 days of NOPA, HayArt space hosted SYN/SYM, a miniature multichannel installation that imitates biological cycles: 24 hours become transformed into 24 minutes, with replicas of the deep night, busy mornings, quiet afternoons, and lively sunset.
The piece is based on 24-hour listening sessions of different locations in Germany, France and Thailand, but does not use any field recording in the composition. Instead, it uses additive synthesis generated with synthesisers like the Coupigny or the Serge modular system, tricking us to question what we think are “natural” sounds or “artificial”.
SYN/SYM mixes synthesis and symbiosis: the production of chemical or electrical compounds by reaction from simpler materials, and the interaction between two organisms living in close physical association. In the most complex machines, live the mineral components extracted from the insides of the planet.

NOPA փառատոնի 9 օրերի ընթացքում HayArt տարածքը հյուրընկալեց SYN/SYM-ը՝ մուլտիալիքային ինստալացիա, որը կենսաբանական ցիկլերի պատկերում էր: 24 ժամը փոխակերպվում է 24 րոպեի` ներկայացնելով գիշերվա խորությունը, առավոտվա եռուզեռը, հանգիստ կեսօրն ու մայրամուտը։
Ստեղծագործությունը հիմնված է Գերմանիայի, Ֆրանսիայի և Թաիլանդի տարբեր վայրերում 24-ժամյա լսումների վրա, սակայն կոմպոզիցիայում դաշտային ձայնագրություններ չեն օգտագործվում։ Փոխարենը, այն օգտագործում է հավելյալ սինթեզ, ինչպես Coupigny կամ Serge մոդուլային համակարգի օգնությամբ ստեղծված սինթեզատորներն են, կասկածի տակ դնելով «բնական» կամ «արհեստական» ձայները։
